Monday 28th September 1000 Update:
Campsite: Site is half full. A cloudy start to the day with drizzle, hopefully clearing up later on. The farm fields are closed and the sheep are safely grazing there again.
It's a lot quieter during weekdays with a wider choice of pitches.

Met Office Whitesands Beach Forecast
The new Shower and Toilet block is open (since 5th August 2020): There are separate female, male and disabled/family sections; an outside washdown shower and stainless steel washing-up sink. Tokens are available from Famous Pete for the shower meters (coins will not work).
Covid 19 We do our best to keep the new toilets clean throughout the day, and they are treated with anti-bacterial chemicals (BS EN 14476); paper is used for wiping all surfaces (rather than cloths); the new building has been designed without light switches, has self-flushing urinal and the latest automatic ventilation system; there are anti-bacterial dispensers available as you enter/leave the Shower block; soap dispensers and hand air driers. Many campsite toilets across the country have remained closed. In the current climate, campers are asked to ensure personal cleanliness at all times. Dogs are not allowed into the shower and toilet facility; and campers are asked not to wash down wetsuits in the showers to avoid clogging the drains with sand. Campers use the shared facilities at their own risk.
Farm Fields (13 acres, or nearly 10 football pitches) above the beach are open in August, with plenty of room and space. This 'wild camping' is restricted to tents and trailer tents, with places to pitch that are set far apart. There are water taps located in most fields, no hook-ups. Of course, the facilities on the main site (showers and toilets) are also available to campers using the farm fields. There will be no additional charge for those who bring their own toilet tents in order to remain self contained (many have this season).

Main site (30 pitches): Tents, trailer tents, campervans (such as VW T5) and smaller sized motorhomes are welcome. Sorry, we do not have pitches for caravans or very large motorhomes ('A' class and RV).
Farm fields (13 acres or 10 football pitches): Open in August (tents and accompanying vehicles, and trailer tents only). 'Wild camping' in farm fields with water taps, no hook-ups, with use of main site showers and toilet facilities closer to the beach.
We do not formally take bookings at any time of year and cannot allocate pitches in advance: "first-come-first-served policy".
We encourage payment by card (especially in these times), but also accept cash.

The new Shower and Toilet Block has been open since Wednesday 5th August.
There are 14 electric hook-ups on the main site ("first-come-first-served"). It is not possible to book hook-ups in advance.
Electric showers are £1 for a token, obtained from Famous Pete. Campers must not use coins, they shut down the meters.
We do not allow campfires (on the ground which damage the grass), and Chinese lanterns may not be lit or launched on site (the campsite is part of a working farm).
In the interests of other campers, dogs should be kept under close control or preferably on a lead on the site. They are not allowed in the shower and toilet block.
To avoid damage to the grass-cutting machinery and natural environment: campers are requested not to remove stones from the hedges or leave them on the fields: Respect the Farm.
The main 30 pitch site is fairly flat, sloping gently down towards the sea; the farm fields above the beach (open in August) all have flat areas mainly next to the hedges, but if you camp on a sloping section it would be wise to park your vehicle across rather than facing downhill. The higher up you go in the fields, the flatter your pitch will be (and more dramatic the view).
