Update: Wednesday 10 August @1600.  Main site: half a dozen pitches available.  Farm fields: open for tents lots of room.

Main Site:    Open until end of October 2022.

Farm fields: now open as usual for summer holidays 2022: 13 acres (10 football pitches) overlooking beach.

We do not formally take bookings at any time of year and cannot allocate pitches or electric hook-ups in advance: "first-come-first served policy"

Office opening hours are posted daily at the office by Mark the Campsite Manager (usually 0900-1000 & 1600-1700, longer hours in summer months).  If you arrive outside of these hours, you are welcome to pitch up and visit the office when convenient (for shower tokens, payment, advice etc).

During the season, updates are posted during the day on this web page indicating how busy we are, what the weather is, tides, events on the beach, and so on:

Any early mist patches will quickly clear in the morning to leave a dry, hot and sunny day with light winds. Feeling a little fresher at the coast in a sea breeze. Maximum temperature 31 °C.

Staying dry overnight with largely clear skies, however the odd mist patch could form. A warm night for many, particularly in towns and cities. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Staying dry with plenty of sunshine. Feeling hot again in the light winds, but a little fresher at the coast. Maximum temperature 32 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Staying sunny on Friday and increasingly hot. Feeling a little more humid over the weekend, with further hot sunshine, but also the potential for a few thundery showers by Sunday.

Events & Developments:

20 June 2022: We have been awarded "Best Coastal Family Campsite 2022 - South Wales" by Best of British Getaways.

Met Office Whitesands Beach Forecast:

'Live' surf report: Whitesands Surf Report, Live Surf Cam & 16-Day Surf Forecast - Surfline

The Shower and Toilet block opened in August 2020.  There are separate female, male and disabled/family sections; an outside washdown shower and stainless steel washing-up sink.  Tokens are available for the shower meters (coins will not work).

Main site (30 pitches - shown in photo below): Tents, trailer tents, campervans (such as VW T5) and smaller sized motorhomes are welcome. Sorry, we don't have pitches for caravans or very large motorhomes ('A' class @7 metre plus; and RV).

Farm Fields: now open as usual for summer holidays (13 acres, or nearly 10 football pitches) right above the beach; plenty of space.  This 'wild camping' is restricted to tents, trailer tents and vehicles with driveaway awnings; the pitches are set far apart.  There are water taps in the fields, but not hook-ups.  Of course, the facilities on the main site (showers and toilets) are also available to campers using the farm fields.  There will be no additional charge for those who bring their own toilet tents to remain self contained.

There are electric hook-ups on the main site.  It is not possible to book hook-ups in advance.

Electric Shower Tokens are £1.  Campers must not use coins, they shut down the meters.

We do not allow campfires on the ground because they damage the grass (the campsite is part of a working farm).  Respect the Farm.

In the interests of other campers, dogs should be kept under close control or preferably on a lead.  They are not allowed in the shower and toilet block.

To avoid damage to the grass-cutting machinery and natural environment: campers are requested not to remove stones from the hedges or leave them on the fields: Respect the Farm.

The main 30 pitch site slopes gently down towards the sea.  The farm fields are open in August 2022: the higher up you go in the fields, the flatter your pitch will be, and more dramatic the view.  Park next to your pitch.

Groups of under-18s need to provide details of parents prior to arrival.

We accept contactless and card payments (preferred) or cash.

Broadband Wi-Fi available on site - Service is provided by Home | Dragon WiFi  (01437 763333) (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) who provide the first 10 minutes free and then charge and receive payments thereafter.  Best reception is at the Office/Shower Block.

Mobile Phone - signal on the campsite next to the beach is weak, it improves with a walk to the top fields or a short distance up the hill on the St Davids road.  Alternatively use wifi calling.

Surf Lessons and Hire on Site - 10% discount given by Ma Simes Surf Hut 01437 720 433.  https://masimes.co.uk/

A brand new shower block opened in August 2020: showers (five with tokens), an outdoor shower, 6 toilets (male, female and disabled/family).  The site has electric hook-ups, and water taps dotted about the place.

Farm fields will be open during the summer school holidays in 2022: there’s plenty of room in the fields (13 acres) for a game of football or cricket; at the Beach Car Park you can book surf lessons and hire equipment, including windbreaks and recliners.

The “Coaster” bus travels to St David’s every half hour during the summer months (May to September); and the beach is manned by RNLI Lifeguards over the same period.

An ice cream hut and a cafe are open for the camping season.

We accept dogs and well behaved owners on site.  Pembrokeshire Coast National Park imposes a dog ban on Whitesands Beach between 1st May and 30th September.  There is no ban on the coast path, or the nearby beaches of Porthsele or Porth Melgan.
